This document outlines the Terms and Conditions of participation in programs and activities offered by the JSU Wesley Foundation ("The Foundation") at Jacksonville State University. By participating in our programs and activities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility
Participation in Foundation programs and activities is open to all students at Jacksonville State University (unless otherwise specified for specific programs) who are at least 18 years of age or who meet the eligibility criteria for specific programs.
Specific programs may require participants to meet additional criteria, which will be clearly outlined.
2. Participant conduct
Respectful Behavior: All participants are expected to behave with respect toward all individuals, including other students, staff, volunteers, and members of the wider community. This includes refraining from harassment, bullying, discrimination, and using disrespectful language or engaging in disrespectful actions.
Adherence to Policies: Participants must adhere to the policies and procedures established by The Foundation, including those related to safety, facility use, and specific program guidelines.
Compliance with Laws: Participants must comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as the rules and regulations of Jacksonville State University.
Substance Use: The JSU Wesley Foundation is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment. Engaging in the unlawful possession, use, manufacture, distribution, or dispersion of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs is prohibited while on Wesley Foundation premises or at Foundation-sponsored events.
Property Damage: Participants are responsible for any damage they cause to Foundation property or property belonging to The United Methodist Church or other individuals during their participation in programs or activities.
Cooperation: Participants are expected to cooperate with Foundation staff and volunteers, following their instructions, particularly in matters related to safety and program logistics.
3. Waiver and release of liability
In exchange for participating in programs and activities sponsored by the JSU Wesley Foundation ("The Foundation"), associated with Jacksonville State University, The Foundation and associated entities are released from liability for personal injury, sickness, death, property damage, and expenses incurred during participation.
Assumption of Risk: It is acknowledged that participating in programs and activities, including recreational, social, service, and other events, carries inherent risks, including the potential for injury, illness, property damage, or death. By agreeing to this waiver, the participant knowingly and voluntarily assumes all such risks, whether known or unknown, associated with participating in the Activity.
Release of Liability: The participant agrees to release and hold harmless the JSU Wesley Foundation, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and affiliated organizations from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury (including death), or expense that the participant or their heirs may suffer as a result of their participation in Foundation programs and activities. This release extends to any travel associated with Foundation activities, whether to, from, or during the event. This release of liability shall exclude any gross claims of negligence.
Indemnification: The participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Foundation and its representatives from any and all claims, actions, suits, costs, expenses, and liabilities arising out of or related to their actions or omissions during participation in Foundation programs or activities.
Medical Treatment: If medical treatment is needed, the Foundation is authorized to obtain medical treatment for the participant. The participant is financially responsible for any costs incurred as a result of medical treatment. The Foundation does not provide health insurance, and participants should carry their own health insurance.
Publicity Release: The Foundation is permitted to use the participant's likeness in photographs, videos, or other media for promotional and educational purposes without payment or further consent.
4. General provisions
Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama.
Severability: If any provision or part of a provision of these Terms and Conditions is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision or part of the provision is deemed severable from these Terms and Conditions and does not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
Amendments: The Foundation reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes, and their continued participation in programs or activities will constitute their acceptance of the revised terms.
5. Acknowledgment
By checking the box and submitting the registration form, you acknowledge and agree that you have read, understood, and agree to the Wesley Foundation Terms and Conditions. You also agree to the Waiver and Release of Liability contained within this document.
